Title IX Notice of Nondiscrimination


The Wattsburg Area School District does not discriminate on the basis of sex, and prohibits sex discrimination, including sex-based harassment, in any education program or activity that it operates, as required by Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, 20 U.S.C. §§1681 et seq., and its regulations, 34 C.F.R. Part 106, including in admission and employment.  

Inquiries about Title IX may be referred to the District’s Title IX Coordinator, the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (“OCR”), or both.

Anti-Harassment and Anti-Retaliation Statement

The Wattsburg Area School District does not tolerate acts of discrimination or harassment based on sex.  Retaliation against individuals who file complaints about sexual harassment or participate in the investigation of such complaints is prohibited. The District encourages any student who believes he or she has been subjected to sexual harassment to report the harassment to the District.  The District will conduct a prompt investigation.  Any students found to have engaged in sexual harassment or retaliation will be promptly disciplined according to school and district policies including, if circumstances warrant, suspension and/or expulsion.  Also, district staff members found to have engaged in sexual harassment or retaliation will be promptly disciplined, and such discipline may include, if circumstances warrant, termination of employment.  The Wattsburg Area School District encourages students, parents, and staff to work together to prevent sexual harassment.
