What do I want to take home from my summer vacation? Time. The wonderful luxury of being at rest. The days when you shut down the mental machinery that keeps life on track and let life simply wander. The days when you stop planning, analyzing, thinking and just are. Summer is my period of grace.

Dear Families,
It is always bittersweet when one school year ends and summer vacation is upon us. We celebrate all that the children have learned, while tearfully saying goodbye to them until August. We are used to being together as a class, as an extended family, as a school, and it takes us a little while to adjust to a new routine over the summer.
We hope your summer routine is filled with lazy days of reading by the lake, going on family vacations and sending postcards, sleeping over friends' houses, bike riding, jump roping, fishing, boating, swimming, barbecuing, and camping. Most importantly, we hope your routine is filled with time spent relaxing together.
Thank you for a wonderful experience this year at the Elementary Center. We have enjoyed working with you and your children and look forward to learning together next year. Please don't hesitate to contact us over the summer months if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Chad Porter
