Meet Our Board
Mr. Joseph Walko, President
Mr. Joseph Walko joined the School Board on December 1, 2003. He has been involved in public service for most of his life. He enlisted in the Army for three years, then joined the PA National Guard. Mr. Walko has been a professional firefighter for the last 23 years with the City of Erie Fire Department. He also has served on the Board of Directors of the Wattsburg Little League for the past seven years. Mr. Walko lives in Greenfield Township with his wife, Terry, and their three children.

Mr. John Rzepka was elected to serve on the School Board for the December 2005-2009 term. He is a 1984 graduate of both Seneca High School and the Erie County Technical School (Electronics). Mr. Rzepka worked at Elgin Electronics as a Field Service Technician for nearly 16 years until the company closed its doors in 2000. He is now a full-time stay-at-home Dad, and lives in Greene Township with his wife, Carla, and their three children.

Mr. Bruce McCall joined the Wattsburg Area School District Board of Directors in December, 2009. He grew up in western Pennsylvania and graduated from Grove City College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems in 1991. He and his family lived in North Carolina for 11 years prior to relocating to Erie County in 2004. Bruce has three sons who attend WAMS and WAEC. He is currently a manager in the Information Systems department at Erie Insurance and is an active member of the community, serving on the boards of the local chapter of the Project Management Institute, Wattsburg United Methodist Church, Wattsburg Area Little League, and the Seneca Sports Boosters. An avid sports fan, Bruce enjoys golfing, all of the professional Pittsburgh sports teams, Penn State football, and regularly attends many of the Seneca sporting events. Bruce hopes to leverage his professional background and prior civic involvement to make positive contributions to the school board. He is grateful for the opportunity to serve on the board and wants to make a difference for the students, teachers, employees, and administration of the district.

Mr. Eric Duda

Mrs. Sue Afton joined the Wattsburg Area School District Board of Directors in December, 2007. Mrs. Afton and her husband, John, have been married since 1994 and have four children who attend school in our district. She worked as a court stenographer and at an orthodontist's office before she became a stay-at-home mom in 1998. Mr. & Mrs. Afton, along with John's parents, own and operate Scenic Heights Golf Course. Mrs. Afton enjoys participating in the WAEC PTO and was the PTO president for three years. "Volunteering with the Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts has been a very rewarding experience. I have met the most wonderful people through these organizations, and feel very blessed to know many of the wonderful staff in our district," states Mrs. Afton. She also states, "I am looking forward to learning all I can about our district while I serve my term on the school board." When asked about her hobbies and favorite things to do, Mrs. Afton said that camping, bowling, golfing, reading and spending time with her family top the list.
Mrs. Nancy McNally
Mrs. Nancy McNally retired from the Wattsburg Area School District after teaching 5th grade for 35 years. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Edinboro University plus an additional 15 credits. “As a life-long learner, I would like to continue my own education by learning about all the facets included in the operation of this school district. I feel confident that having been a teacher and resident in the Wattsburg School District for over 3 decades, I will be able to make prudent and sound decisions regarding the education of our children”. Mrs. McNally has been a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Harborcreek since she was a child and has been the organist/co-organist for 37 years. She enjoys music, especially playing the piano. The McNally’s continue to remain involved in a variety of activities sponsored by the church. The McNally’s have 6 children, 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Mrs. McNally lives in Venango Township with her husband Ron and their two cats Bonnie & Clyde.

Mr. Ken Watkins joined the Wattsburg Area School District Board of Directors in December, 2007. Mr. Ken Watkins is a resident of Amity Township. He and his wife, Donna, have three children, two of whom attend the elementary center. Mr. Watkins has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Gannon University and is employed as a Lead Engineer for G. E. Transportation. He enjoys being involved in various activities with his children such as sports and Cub Scouts. Mr. Watkins stated that he decided to run for the School Board a few years ago when his children were just beginning their school years. “I believe in community service and serving on the school board was something that my family and friends encouraged me to do. I am very grateful for the support I received in being elected as a new School Board Director. I look forward to working with the other Directors, administration, and faculty as we work to continually improve the educational experience of all the students in the district,” stated Mr. Watkins. The Watkins family enjoys visiting museums and spending time outdoors camping and fishing.

Mr. Scott Rose joined the School Board on December 1, 2003. He is employed by Nationwide Insurance Company. He has been a member of the Inter-Company Arbitration forum as an arbitrator for four years, and is a member of the Lake Erie Claims Association, as well. Mr. Rose serves as a volunteer with MECA United Cerebral Palsy and the Skating Association for the Blind and Handicapped (SABAH). He lives in Greenfield Township with his wife, Karen, and their three sons..
Mr. Kerry Duncan
Mr. Kerry Duncan is a lifelong resident of Erie County. He and his wife have lived in their Amity Township home for over 30 years. Kerry holds both a B.Sc. and Master’s degree from Penn State. He spent his youth working on a farm, and served in the U.S. Army. In 2008 Mr. Duncan retired, and now works part-time as a handy man. The Duncan's’ have two adult children both of whom graduated from Seneca High-School.
